Insider Guide
A curated Google Map of the best coffee shops in London
Organised by area and personally tested by local tour guides.
Finding great coffee in London isn't as easy as it should be
London has a deep coffee history — the first coffee house opened here in 1652, and even Lloyd's of London famously began life inside a coffee house. Coffee has been part of the city's culture for centuries.
Today, London is home to thousands of cafés. Some serve exceptional coffee. Many are average. And from the outside, it's almost impossible to tell the difference. If you're visiting for just a few days, trial and error isn't charming — it's expensive and time-consuming. One disappointing flat white might not ruin your London trip, but two or three quickly add up.
That's exactly why we created this London Coffee Map.

“I've came to visit London on a very short trip, I stayed here for 3 days, and I am so glad I found this guide! It was so easy to use, and I loved all the places that I went to, my personal favourite was Attendant in Fitzrovia I would never found it without this guide. Are the coffee shops organised by area?
Yes. The cafés are organised around the neighbourhoods most visitors stay in and explore — including Westminster, Soho, Covent Garden, Shoreditch and other central London areas. We focused on practical locations so you don't waste time travelling across the city just for a cup of coffee.
What makes this different from searching on Google Maps?
Google Maps shows everything. This map shows what's actually worth visiting. Every café on the London Coffee Map has been personally tested and includes a short insider note explaining what makes it special — whether it's exceptional espresso, great atmosphere or a hidden courtyard you wouldn't notice from the street. It removes the guesswork and saves you from relying purely on ratings that don't always tell the full story.
